Selection of a FAFCO Ice Storage System

In order to size and select a FAFCO ice storage system the hourly cooling load and the charge period must be given.

In addition, the chiller/ice storage arangement (series or parallel arrangement) must be established as this will effect the sizing procedure.

A computer program has been established to size and select FAFCO ice storage systems.

For the final selection further issues must be taken into consideration:

• Available space (length x width)
  
• Useful plant room hight
  
• Access to the final location of the ice store
  
• Permissible floor load
